Why do I grow some of my own flowers?
There are so many possibilities when deciding to grow cut flowers. But before you can choose what flowers to grow, first things first. You must answer some questions for yourself. Where will you grow your flowers. What kind of garden beds do you want? How will you protect your flowers from insects and critters? But the biggest question is your why. Your why drives you through the obstacles you will face.
Why choose to grow some of my own flowers?
I have always loved growing plants and flowers! I grew up around gardens and my family has always enjoyed beautifying yards. It’s always wonderful see something start from a small plant or seed and grow into something beautiful.
Nothing beats the freshness of cutting the flowers as close to their use in an arrangement as possible.
Deciding what flowers to grow, when to plant them, and how many plants to grow and how to grow them ensures I am in control of having what I need, when I need it, and that they are organically grown and provided the best nutrients to grow well.
Ensuring availability of the planned flowers for my clients instead of competing with other florists for the flowers is something you just can’t beat.
Seedlings are already started for 2025! So exciting!
